"Kia ora Pegasus, I would use your rental services again and will also be encouraging my children to use Pegasus when they come back to NZ for their holidays. Your rental hire is so very affordable, the vehicle spotless, what more can you ask for."

Whangarei Local Events
In 1997 Whangarei-based tomato grower Murray Burns and Hokianga grower Rob Bradley started the Whangarei Growers’ Market. The concept was to sell direct to the public.
The markets specialty is fresh, quality produce grown locally.
The night markets are on the last Friday of every month! They are held inside the 1930s historical Whangarei Old Library building. With over 40 stalls of arts, crafts, bric a brac, collectables, antiques and 2nd hand goods!
There is also often live music and always a DJ playing funky sounds, there is also a $5 bar serving wine, beer and soft drinks... Come along catch up with friends after work... Enjoy a drink and browse the market.
Grab a bite to eat from the many delicious food stalls too... from Indian curry, pork buns, Italian breads, raw fish, Maori burgers and more...

The sassy and supremely talented Gin Wigmore will headline the 2012 Classic Hits Winery Tour, along with reformed legends The Mutton Birds & talented newcomers, Avalanche City, who round out the three band bill.
Now in its sixth year, and with a brand new presenting sponsor, the Classic Hits Winery Tour (formerly the More FM Winery Tour) is a firmly established and much loved national touring event showcasing the best of Kiwi music. In 2012 it will include 16 shows in 14 venues nationwide including Auckland, Matakana Tutukaka, Tauranga, Gisborne, Havelock North, Martinborough, New Plymouth, Hamilton, Upper Motuere (Nelson) Waipara (Christchurch) Dunedin and Cromwell.
Gin, recently back from the USA where she recorded her sophomore album, Gravel & Wine (released 7 November), has enjoyed massive success since the release of her EP Extended Play, followed by the multi-platinum debut album Holy Smoke, scooping four Tui Awards in last year’s NZ Music Awards and massive airplay success with I Do, Oh My, Under My Skin and the just released Black Sheep.
The Mutton Birds join the Winery Tour celebrating not one, but two milestones; 2012 marks 20 years since the release of the band’s self titled debut album and 10 years since their last show. With timeless Kiwi anthems that transcend generations like Anchor Me, Dominion Road and Nature, Don McGlashan, Ross Burge, David Long and Alan Gregg are reuniting just for the Winery Tour.
Avalanche City completes the 100% Kiwi bill as the new kids on the block. Winners of the coveted APRA Silver Scroll Award this year for hit single Love Love Love and fresh from showcase tours of Japan, Australia, USA and London, the band is rocking up the charts and winning hearts all over the globe.
The Winery Tour kicks off with its 78th show at Ascension Wine Estate in Matakana on Friday 3rd February and concludes at Villa Maria Estate in Auckland on Saturday 3rd March.
Tickets (and bus/ticket packages) go on sale on Monday 07 November with an Early Bird offer of $59 plus booking fee (ticket only) for the month of November, increasing to $69 plus booking fee from 01 December.

Top rally drivers from all over the Asia Pacific and New Zealand head to New Zealand’s northern-most city, Whangarei, for the International Rally of Whangarei starting on 30 March 2012.
The 2012 running of the International Rally of Whangarei marks the sixth time the prestigious international rally has used the northern city as its base. However it’s the first time that the highly-regarded motorsport event has been the opening round of both the Asia Pacific and New Zealand Rally Championships. With championship-registered drivers gunning to get their season off to a flying start, the level of competition at the 2012 International Rally of Whangarei is sure to reach a new intensity.
Rally fans can expect to see at least 20 competitors and teams from the Asia Pacific region – hailing from Australia, India, New Caledonia, Malaysia, Japan, China and Indonesia – taking on between 50 and 60 of New Zealand’s finest rally crews who will travel from all over the country to contest the two-day rally.
From the main service park and rally headquarters at Whangarei’s Quayside Town Basin, the rally route takes competitors – and fans – primarily southwest of Whangarei as far as Paparoa through spectacular scenic rural roads which traverse the Whangarei, Northland and Kaipara regions. Drivers revel in the opportunity to drive on what are widely regarded as some of the best rally stages in the world.
Fans can enjoy numerous free rally-related activities in downtown Whangarei, like the official driver autograph signing session and entertaining ceremonial start in Cameron Street Mall or check out the high speed technical expertise of the teams working in the service park alongside the Quayside Town Basin. Just a few kilometres from central Whangarei, at Pohe Island, event organisers run a very popular super special stage alongside the Lions Club family fun day on Saturday. Sunday’s rally action again takes competitors out of the city before wrapping up with the official prize-giving at the Town Basin – all are welcome.
The event showcases Whangarei, Northland and Kaipara in a unique way and receives considerable support from Whangarei District Council, Kaipara District Council, the charitable Maungaturoto Co-operative, and other community groups and residents. Organisers, Rally of New Zealand Ltd, return half the proceeds of spectator ticket sales to the Whangarei and Kaipara community groups which play an important part in helping run this exciting motorsport event.
